You may cache it on this card.” The appendix then elaborates, including BOTH cards with that power AND cards that say: “Gain 1 wheat from the supply and cache it on this card.” Regarding BOTH these powers the appendix states: “As noted on these cards, you can cache exactly one food token when their power is activated by placing it on a bird card. The card was a red bellied woodpecker whose power states: “Gain 1 wheat from the feeder if available. How is it not an exception when the instructional video above clearly states: “If an effect *ever* tells you to cache a food, you *must* put it in the bird card and you *cannot* spend it.” Same exact thing in the Appendix. I believe it was the red throated hummingbird. Can someone from the official site please settle this for us? And if I am correct and cache means on the card only, please for the love of all that is holy, remove the word “may” from any future bird card printings 😭 because none of the other cache card powers say “may”,they just tell you to cache it, so this added fuel to the other players argument. We are still arguing about it days later. I insisted that any cache powers the food can only go on the card or nowhere and that the power is optional and that’s what the “may” wording referred to and the video above also says “if a card *ever* tells you to cache it must be on the card and cannot be used to play a bird” but the other player insisted the use of the word “may” allowed them to choose not to put the food on the bird and instead in their supply to play birds and we both googled and their are a TON of online discussions about that exact wording and they all seemed to agree with the other player, that the word “may” in the cache wording allows you to cache on card OR add to your supply to play birds, which to me is in direct contradiction to what the above video says and what the rulebook/appendix says about cache meaning food on card only. The card said you “may” cache the food on the card, so the other player insisted this meant that they could choose to cache or put it in their personal supply. I got into an argument with another player about the wording of an activation power to cache a food on the card.
